Are you or a group interested in providing food for the house to be constructed in Continental in 2012?  Please either email or call us!  Thank you!

Thanks to the many churches, business, individuals and organizations who stepped forward in 2010 and 2011 to help feed our volunteers as well as lead our devotions.  We hope that you will help us again next spring as we build a home in Continental.

If you'd like to provide food for our 2012 building season, information is provided below:

 Food for Body & Soul!

Thank you for agreeing to be a food & prayer provider for Putnam County Habitat for Humanity.  You play a critical role to volunteers enjoying their overall Habitat House building experience.

BOTTLED WATER AND ICE:
This is a critical item to the build site.  We ask that iced down water is dropped off in the morning for the whole day so it is available immediately.  Please plan on providing 1 or 2 cases of bottled water.  Small bottles work—they fit in pockets and therefore don’t get mixed up with another person’s half empty bottle when set aside momentarily.

FOOD INFORMATION:

12 Noon        LUNCH                     (Served from noon – 1 pm, roughly)

Please plan on serving 8 - 15 people from noon - 1 pm.   Also, please plan on providing everything necessary to serve lunch - napkins, paper plates, cups, cutlery, serving utensils, if needed.  Your donations are a huge help!

Sample lunch ideas are
  • Sandwiches, carrot sticks, grapes and chips,
    • Sandwich possibilities include ham, turkey, sloppy joes, shredded chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, wraps
  • Restaurant offerings – think subs, bags of sandwiches, or pizzas
  • Your choice—your group may have a specialty.  Please feel free to be creative!
Food should be self serve, i.e.; think of what you would serve at a picnic.  Some volunteers stand up and eat. Due to the heat in summer, many volunteers don’t care for anything to drink but water.  Soda pop is okay if you choose, but not a lot of volunteers drink it except maybe during the lunch hour.  Do not feel you need to provide any cold beverage other than water.   Please plan to collect your items around 3 pm.  This is a guess…some days may end earlier and others later.  We know you understand!

ThankYou!!
